I'm not sure about the oral amphetamines for meth addiction. For many meth users, when you use something like Dexedrine, it feels incomplete, and makes you desire meth even more. I've known former meth users who were in recovery and stable have been destabilized by Dexedrine prescriptions (given for adult-diagnosed ADHD) and then returned to meth use. I'd be curious to see the body of evidence that some say supports oral amphetamines for meth users. Regardless, the fact that it can worsen some users must also be considered - no "one size fits all".

There are other pharmaceuticals with some evidence to help stimulant cravings, such as Naltrexone.

Social incentive could be providing a paid job after recovery as part of integration. Recovered addicts are able to apply lived experience to counsel other addicts through their recovery
