I am quite certain that the lack of a proper, formal, arm's length evaluation of a 100 Mln. national program allowing the dispensing of highly addictive drugs to chronically addicted people was an oversight. I am sure of it.
Oh yes, the evidence is in. Open your eyes. Every city across canada is experiencing the fall out of this incredibly misinformed strategy to help addicts… it’s absolutely insane!! I don’t believe one recovering addict has its wisdom infused in any strategy throughout bc. Whoever is making these decisions is WRONG on every level. 100 million could go into a lot of appropriate support for these suffering people. I can barely tolerate a society who continues to do the opposite of what is needed… baffling!! Truly baffling!!
THE TRUE OUTCOME THAT IS AT 844 JOHNSON STREET WHERE THE DISTRIBUTION OF OPIOIDS STARTED IN 2018 SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE IT WAS ANNOUCED TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE DRUG HYDROMOPHONE. I HAVE LIVED AMONG THE PPOPULATION OF HEAVY ADDICTION AS I WAS A CITIZEN IN VICTORIA THAT WHEN THEY WERE IN TENT CITY COURTHOUSE 2016 .I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR THEM EVER SINCE. THE RATE OF DEATH AT 123NOW SCREAMS INQUIRY AS THE DEATHS MOST WERE PREVENTABLE AS MOST WERE INFECTED HORRIBLY WITH MRSA. C.O.D. =?THIS IS RELEVANT TO SAFER SUPPLY STATS BECAUSE THE DELIVERY OF THE FIRST 2 YEARS WAS NOT SIGNEDD FOR DISPENSED DRUGS SO THEERE REALLY IS NO TRUE NUMBER OF WHAT WAS GIVEN BY APOTHECARY 2 AT THE TIME BEFORE BEING REPLACED BY CRIDGE PHARMACY. VICTORIA. THE TRUE OUTCOME HAS BEEN HIGH DEATH RATE ;NO REDUCTION OF STREET DRUG USE AND HIGH CONTAGIOUS DISEASE SPREAD BELIEVED TO BE THE TRUE VAUSE THAT NO MEDICAL OF BC HAS COME TOREMOVE THE DESPERATELY NEGLECTED PERSONS THAT ARE A HIGH RISK FOR MYSELF AND EVERY DAY THE CITY OF VICTORIA AND THE WORLD. THIS SHOULD E A TOP PRIORITY THIS IS NOT A WAIT AMND SEE LIKE THE DRUG USE AND WHY ARE THE PEOPLE NOT DYING FROM ILLICIT DRUGS ANYMORE ASK YOURSELF CAUSE WHERE I AM NOBODY STOPPED
No quibble with the main point of this piece, which is that we still aren't gathering such vital information to be able to say much either way about safe supply ( or really, any kind of intervention or treatment involving illicit substances). But I just want to note that stating that BC broadly adopted safer supply is misleading. There are an estimated 100,000-125,000 people in BC with opioid use disorder, and as if two years ago, a scant 4,619 people on safer supply. With the rolling back of people's ability to take their prescriptions at home due to political pressures, I'd bet that's even lower now.
